He attended St. Kevin's College in Melbourne. Before he became a member of Hi-5, he had worked at Brainstorm Productions on a show called ''Verbal Combat.''

In 2007, after Tim Harding announced that he would not be returning, Nicholson took his place as a permanent member until his departure at the end of 2015.

=== Personal Life ===
After a few years of the end of Hi-5 House, Stevie married fellow former Hi-5 member Tanika Anderson in November 2019. They are now parents to a baby girl, Wild Mei Nicholson.
