Timothy John Harding (born 1 February 1978) is an Australian musician, singer, guitarist, entertainer. Most famously known as one of the original members of the children's musical group Hi-5 and the associated television series of the same name from its inception in 1998 to 2007 before exiting after nine years with the group due to suffering major injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.

Biography

Early life

Timothy John Harding was born in Gosford, New South Wales to Chris and Linda Harding and was raised in Sydney alongside two younger brothers named Peter (P.J.) and James. Harding attended St. Andrews Cathedral School. In 1993, he began a funk band Compos Mentis with his brother Peter, family friend Mike McCarthy, and bass player Sam O'Donnell.

Hi-5 (1998-2007)

In 1998, while studying social work, he auditioned for the children's musical group, Hi-5. Harding was accepted and became one fifth of the members of Hi-5 where he was featured in the Making Music segment of the series, he also played as a puppeteer for Jup Jup in the Puzzles and Patterns segment from Series 1 to 9, hosted by Kathleen de Leon Jones (Series 1-8) and Sun Park (Series 9). However, by November 2007, Harding announced that he will be leaving Hi-5 following a motorcycle accident at the Eastern Creek Raceway in June of the same year which resulted from a broken back and toes. He was eventually replaced by Stevie Nicholson.

After Hi-5

In 2009, Harding moved to the U.K. and became a singer and guitarist at the Michael Jackson spectacular "MJ Timeless" at the Globe Theatre in Blackpool, and performed at the famous Blackpool Illuminations 'Switch On' along with stars such as Robbie Williams and The Wanted. He was the front man for the Manchester rock band, Pangaea, who's self titled album was released in December 2012.[1]

Personal life

In 2006, While on tour in England for Hi-5, Harding met a Blackpool native, Natasha Humphreys, while visiting at a sports car factory she worked at. The pair got engaged in Christmas 2007 before getting married in January 2009 at the Langdale Chase Hotel in Windermere, England. The couple would go on to have two daughters, Arielle Poppy-Marie, and Beatrix Joelle. By 2013, Harding and his family moved back to Australia, setting in Newcastle, New South Wales. However in 2025, Harding and his family back to the U.K. in order to be closer with her wife's family.

Harding is also an advocate for epilepsy awareness and medicinal cannabis use after his eldest daughter was diagnosed with a type of epilepsy called Jeavons Syndrome via a underlying genetic condition caused by a variation in the TRIO gene.[2]
