Kimee Balmilero
Kimberly Jonelle "Kimee" Balmilero (born 13 December 1979) is an American actress and singer. She was an original member of the Emmy Award nominated children's musical group Hi-5 from 2002 to 2008 after the band split up.
Biography
Early life
Born into a family of Filipino and Native Hawaiian descent, she is the daughter of Roy Balmilero who appears in Hawaii Five-0 portrayed as Noelani's father Joseph Cunha. Balmilero graduated from James B. Castle High School, home of the Castle Performing Arts Center on Oahu. In high school, she worked on a dinner cruise, singing and dancing for the customers, and was a member of 24VII Honolulu Dance Company.
Balmilero left Hawaii at 17 and joined the second national touring company of Miss Saigon. After touring for almost three years she moved to San Francisco to study at Studio A.C.T. for six months. Balmilero then moved to New York City and was part of the Original Broadway Cast of Mamma Mia!
Hi-5 (2002-2008)
In September 2002, Kimee was cast in the children's show Hi-5, the American counterpart to the Australian kids' show Hi-5. Just like with her Australian counterpart, Kathleen de Leon Jones, her segment is Puzzles And Patterns, in which she figures out various solutions and solves problems. This segment teaches children problem-solving and math skills.
After Hi-5
On January 30, 2006, Kimee appeared as a contestant on The Price is Right. However, she didn't win her way up on stage. Later that same year, she started a jewelry line called Kimeejay.
She had been on television from 2002 to 2023 as a guest, and was starred as the main character, Dr. Noelani Cunha, from the 2010 reboot series Hawaii Five-0 back in 2016.
In 2024, she was also a voice actress in the video game Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
