Curtis Cregan

Curtis John Cregan (born 18 January 1977) is an American salesman and retired actor, singer, and dancer, best known as a member of the American version of the Australian children's music group Hi-5 from 2002 to 2008 before the band split.

Biography

Early life

Cregan was born in Lititz, Pennsylvania and raised in Okemos, Michigan, where he attended Okemos High School and studied with a choral director, Frank K. DeWald. He attended Okemos High School at the same time as Smallville's Tom Welling. He then attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he encountered his future Hi-5 colleague Jenn Korbee. Curtis' first performing job was as an emcee for the Nickelodeon show at Kings Island. After college, he made his Broadway debut in Rent. From there, he went on to play such roles as Doody from Grease, Dickon from The Secret Garden, and one of the Von Trapp family from The Sound of Music.

Hi-5 (2002-2008)

In September 2002, he joined the American version of the children's music group/television show Hi-5. Just like with his Australian counterpart, Tim Harding, his segment was Making Music, where he explained the fundamentals of music and making musical instruments from everyday objects. Cregan also provided the voice of Kimee Balmilero's mischief-making friend Jup Jup. He would go on to be a mainstay member of the group before the band eventually split in August 2008 after performing their last show in Puerto Rico.

After Hi-5

After his tenure with Hi-5, Cregan decided to retire from acting to work as a salesman, he currently works for a New York based company based in Westchester County.

Curtis married Broadway actress Jenn Gambatese on June 30, 2007. They have two daughters, Josephine (born in 2009) and Charlie (born in 2017).
