Jennifer Korbee (née Peterson-Hind; born 24 May 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was an original member of the Emmy Award-nominated children's musical group Hi-5 from 2002 to 2008 after the band split up.

Biography

Early life

Jenn was born in Madison, Wisconsin. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in musical theatre from the University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), she moved to New York City and was cast in a regional production of the Off-Broadway musical The Marvelous Wonderettes.

She was a participant on the eighth season of "American Idol," eliminated at the final judgment following a sing-off with Kristen McNamara. In the group rounds, she sang with her husband, Tom Korbee, disqualified semifinalist Joanna Pacitti, and the eventual runner-up, Adam Lambert.

Hi-5 (2002-2008)

In September 2002, Jenn was cast in the children's show Hi-5, the American counterpart to the Australian kids' show Hi-5. Just like with her Australian counterpart, Kellie Crawford, her segment is Word Play, in which she figures out various way use words. This segment teaches children linguistics, letters, games with words, rhymes, pictures and fun, with the assistance of a puppet named Chatterbox (or "Chats" or "Chatsy" for short).

After Hi-5

She appeared as the newscaster in the film Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer starring Heather Graham, which was released in 2011.

She formed the duo Korbee in 2014. In 2016, Jenn released a single, "Hey Child," produced by David Garcia and executive produced by Mark Endert, which debuted to over 400,000 streams on Spotify.
